The Juilliard Summer Percussion Master Class Series is a one-week ONLINE program designed to offer a rigorous learning environment in a remote setting to high school and college students aged 14-25.
The Juilliard Summer Percussion Master Class Series is a weeklong online program aimed at high school and college aged students. The series includes 14 master classes and clinics by Juilliard faculty and distinguished alumni plus two concert performances featuring participant and faculty performers. Each participant will perform for two master classes using prerecorded video. Additionally, each day will feature an informal online lunch gathering with that day’s faculty presenters.
Series will include:
- Master classes These will be split between presentations by the faculty and participant performances with faculty feedback. Participants will be assigned to two master classes based on their preferences. Participants will submit a video of a recent, unedited performance of an etude, solo, or orchestra excerpt that will be viewed in the class, followed by a short open lesson with the faculty member.
- Participant/faculty showcase concerts. These two concerts will be a mix of livestreamed performances and sharing of videos of recent performances by participants and faculty members. Performing in concerts is optional!
- Lunch gatherings. These are optional informal opportunities to gather and talk with other participants and faculty members. We’ll eat, we’ll chat, that’s it!
Program dates: July 27 through July 31.
Classes will take place between 10am and 6pm ET. Concerts will be on July 30 and July 31 at 7pm ET. An average day will involve three to four hours of required attendance plus optional events.
